SEN TEACHING ASSISTANTSir Francis Drake Primary school is a small and friendly 1 form entry primary school located next to Deptford Park. We are a multicultural, inclusive school and our motto is The school where everyone is valued and all succeed.
We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and friendly team. You will be required to provide one-to-one support to a child in reception who is on the Autistic spectrum, as well as other members of the class, with guidance from the class teacher. This post is a fixed term contract which will end once the child leaves the school.
Applicants will have considerable, recent experience of working with children in the primary sector and hold NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Candidates will also have a background that had involved working with children on the Autistic Spectrum.
We are looking for a practitioner who:
- Is an excellent practitioner ideally with considerable, recent experience of working with children in the primary sector
- Has a recognised teaching, TA or child care qualification
- has a background that had involved working with children on the Autistic Spectrum.
- Has high expectations of children and themselves
- Desires to learn and improve themselves professionally
- Is committed to inclusion and raising the attainment of all pupils
- Is able to form excellent relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Has energy and a great sense of humour
A good standard of spoken and written English is essential.
