  • Friday 23 July 2021 Year 6 BBQ and Sleepover On Thursday morning we held our final assembly for Year 6 where we said our official goodbyes.  There were a few tears but it was a happy occasion where we celebrated just how far this group of young people had come and in particularly challenging circumstances.  The fun didn’t stop for Year 6 though as we held an after school BBQ and sleepover!  A huge thank you to the staff who gave up their time (and their beds) to make the end of term memorable for our children.
  • Friday 23 July 2021 Year 6 Activity Day On Monday we held an activity day for our Year 6 children.  The events were led by Ben from Altitude Events who came with a whole lot of exciting activities to challenge the teamwork and communication skills of the children.  Great fun was had by all!

  • Friday 25 June 2021 Special Visitors Year 5 have been reading the book Cosmic by Frank Cottrell Bryce about a boy called Liam who, while only being 10 years old, gets to drive a supercar on a day out! The class are writing their own adventure stories and have been doing research about cars. This week we had a visit from an Audi R8 convertible. A big thank you to Sayad, Syed and Tarik from Luxury Wedding Chauffeurs for brining it in!
  • Friday 25 June 2021 Students Helping Out! We are really proud of Shelby in Year 5 who has been helping out in the Fringe Community church in Orpington, to set up the tables and hand out food to people in need on a Saturday.
  • Friday 25 June 2021 Scawen Road Closure We have had confirmation this week that the road closure outside of school will remain permanent. This is really good news for the safety of our children before and after school and gives them a great opportunity to ride their bikes and scooters straight out of school and into the park. Thank you to the parents and carers who took part in our survey earlier this year. The overwhelming majority of respondents were in favour of the road closure and we passed the survey results onto the council as they had requested.

We are continuing to work hard on the flower beds outside the hall.  Ms Shearsby and the breakfast club have been weeding, planting and watering this week.  The pumpkins are looking very exciting and we are hoping for a bumper crop!  The nasturtiums are coming on well too and look out for peas and beans which have also been planted this week.
  • Friday 11 June 2021 Reception visitors take flight! The children in Blythe class were so surprised and excited to see butterflies instead of chrysalises when they returned back to school on Monday! They enjoyed observing, writing special messages and releasing the butterflies. Some of them even had the chance to hold a butterfly.
